Stand about 20 cm from a mirror, hold a ruler against your brow and measure from the centre of one pupil to the centre of the other in millimetres. Most adults fall between 58 and 68 mm. If you leave it blank we use 62 mm, which works for the majority of single-vision powers.

Rinse under tap water first to wash off grit, then use the spray and microfibre cloth from the box. Never use a shirt, tissue or paper towel — that is what puts fine scratches through the anti-glare coating.
